Isle of Lewis Chess Pieces, 20" Anegre Matt Chess Board

Unearthed in 1831 on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, these pieces may represent one of the few surviving medieval chess sets. It remains a puzzle whether the original set can be fully reassembled.
