The Queen's Gambit Official Chess Set

Bring the atmosphere and elegance of The Queen's Gambit into your home with this complete official chess set. Combining an expertly proportioned wooden chessboard with distinctive weighted chessmen, the set has been designed to provide an enjoyable playing experience while remaining an impressive display piece.

 

The 40 cm chessboard features dark Black Tulipie playing squares, contrasting Root Pr light squares and a matching Black Tulipie frame. Its understated matte finish highlights the character of the wood while helping to reduce glare under indoor lighting.

 

With 40 mm squares and a slim 13 mm board height, the board offers a compact yet comfortable playing surface. The proportions have been carefully matched to the accompanying 78 mm king, ensuring that the pieces sit naturally within each square without appearing crowded.

Weighted Boxwood Chessmen

The light chessmen are crafted from natural boxwood, while the dark army is made from boxwood stained in a deep black colour. This creates a bold and clearly defined contrast across the playing surface while retaining a consistent material throughout the complete set.

 

Each piece is weighted at the base to provide improved stability and a more substantial feel during play. The 78 mm king is complemented by carefully scaled queens, bishops, knights, rooks and pawns, creating a balanced and cohesive playing set.

 

An additional queen is included for pawn promotion, ensuring that the set remains practical for complete games as well as suitable for display and collection.
